PHYSICAL THERAPY

Pediatric physical therapy focuses on improving overall gross motor and functional mobility skills in children and babies. Here at CFTS, we strive to help children learn to successfully perform these skills in a fun and friendly way, while helping to better their overall quality of life.

Skills we work on

STRENGTH

We strive to improve your child's overall strength through a variety of play based exercises

GAIT ABNORMALITIES

We will analyze your child's walking pattern and work to improve any gait abnormalities such as toe walking, in-toeing, out-toeing, etc.

BALANCE

We help to improve your child's overall balance in single leg and dual leg activities

COORDINATION

We aim to improve your child's overall bilateral coordination through a variety of patient specific activities to support bettered participation in age appropriate play

OBJECT MANIPULATION

Through sport play, we can help to improve your child's overall ball skills in play like kicking, catching and throwing

AGILITY

Quick movements in sessions are utilized to improve your child's overall endurance, speed and agility in play

Shelby graduated from the University of Florida with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy before joining CFTS. She enjoys incorporating sport play into sessions as well as giving patients options in sessions to help with decision making skills. Her favorite items in session include cones, Squigz and scooter boards. In her free time, she enjoys cuddling her golden retriever, working out, reading, completing DIYs/crafts and trying out local eateries! Fun fact: Shelby loves to collect art from countries that she travels to and display them in her home.
